Printing Arts Now FSC Certified

Printing Arts is committed to providing innovative, environmentally friendly green printing solutions. Our FSC Chain of Custody Certification allows us to support responsible environmental practices by offering marketing materials to our customers that are printed on paper originated from an FSC certified forest. FSC Certified paper has been harvested from forests that meet stringent environmental, social and economic standards. Becoming an FSC Certified printer is just one of the many steps Printing Arts has taken toward environmentally conscientious printing. Other green initiatives include:
  • 100% of paper waste is recycled
  • Container re-usage programs established with chemical suppliers
  • Batteries, press plates, skids, light bulbs, plastics and oils are recycled
  • Utilization of filtered water to minimize number of changes and flushes required to maintain equipment
  • Utilization of tube ink (instead of canned ink) to minimize ink loss from oxidation
  • In-house ink lab - mixing inks per job reducing ink waste
  • Reduction of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and plant emissions
  • All spray powders are corn-based; spray powder filtration systems in use throughout facilities
  • Utilization of soy-based inks for all of our process inks
  • Significant reduction of paper waste in printing and binding operations through greater efficiency and changes in equipment
  • Recycling of wood products, such as pallets and off-cuts

Stochastic Printing Offered at Printing Arts

Stochastic Screening Experts

How would you like deeper reds, brighter blues and more vibrant yellows?

How would you like greater fidelity, more open shadows and finer detail?

How about shorter press times, sharper textures and printed images that look more like photography than ever before?

These are some of the benefits promised by stochastic printing and Printing Arts is the expert on this technique. So what sets stochastic apart from conventional printing?

1. Size. Smaller dots. The dots are not only small – they’re random. The smaller the dots, the sharper the resolution. More dots capture more of the data found in the image, which in turn equals more detail. Done right, the small dots can create a look that come close to the continuous tones of a photograph.

2. If small is good, random may be even better. It helps to eliminate several types of trouble-some moirés, the distracting wavy patterns that sometimes appear in printed images.

3. Less ink. Small dots require less ink than the larger dots used in conventional printing, which means the film of ink used is more even. And because the ink is thinner, more light is reflected back to the eye. Less ink means it dries faster too, which can save time on press, gets the job into bindery faster and delivered more quickly.

These are some of the benefits of stochastic screening, but there is no one right answer. The technique needs to be matched to the project and stochastic screening is not for every job. We are here to help and answer any question on the technique. Contact your representative at PAC or call John Ropski.
